Reuse Materials

Tiny Homes offer a wonderful opportunity to use secondhand materials. Since the space is so small, you don’t need to have large amounts of any given material, and can find even building materials that have been salvaged. We were fortunate to count on a number of donations of used materials, the most salient of which we highlight below.

Reuse in the Powerhouse

The following are items that were reused in the Tiny Home:

  • Floor insulation donated by CCE-Tompkins

  • Slate tabletop made from an old chalkboard donated by Significant Elements; the table legs were donated by Margo Brinn and Tommy Beers

  • Cabinetry knobs from the Ithaca Reuse Center

  • Loft lighting wall sconces from Mimi’s Attic

  • Marmoleum flooring donated by Mark Pierce

  • Folding chairs and clothes rack donated by Significant Elements
